Before leaving for the hospital, Daniel asks Melanie if she would like to stop and have some hot chocolate. Melanie makes an excuse that she has jet lag and wants to rest. Daniel asks her what about her lunch with Brady? She will make the lunch. Daniel senses she is making excuses to stay at the apartment. He tells her Parker will be coming home soon. Melanie is excited, but Daniel is worried Melanie is hiding something. He asks her again if there is something she wants to tell him. Melanie lies and says she is just tired. Daniel lets her rest and leaves.
At the hospital, Daniel tells Maxine that Melanie will be by to see her to get her job back. Maxine is elated. Nicole arrives and Daniel wants her advice. This surprises Nicole. He asks her about handling Melanie. Nicole tells him he has to be tough on her and direct. Daniel realizes Nicole is right. Daniel returns home
When Daniel returns home, Melanie is gone, but Daniel finds a document she accidentally left behind. When he reads it he frustratedly yells No! and her name.
