At Daniel's apartment, Daniel and Maggie are preparing for Melanie's welcome home party. Their conversation turns to why Melanie returned to Salem so abruptly. Daniel believes it has to do with a lost love in Europe. He thinks this because when Melanie broke up with Chad, she bolted to Europe.
Melanie arrives for the party with Brady in tow, but realizes she has lost the necklace her father gave her. She excuses herself to go back to the Kiriakis mansion to find it. Later, Daniel gets an unexpected call on his phone from a woman looking for Melanie.
