Daniel is at the restaurant getting a drink to go. Nicole spots him and drops the folder she is holding. Daniel looks at Nicole and ignores her for a second and then bends down to help her pick up her papers. One of the papers he picks up is a job offer for Nicole in Santa Fe. Nicole says she is not going to take it, because the money isn't good on the job offer. Nicole asks Daniel if he would miss her if she left. Daniel says no. They are no longer friends. He is glad that she is still around to help Brady though. Nicole jumps on his words and tells Daniel she does not abandon her friends.
Later at the hospital, Daniel asks Anne to consider Paige for the hospital internship program. Anne puts up her usually snide front and thinks Daniel is trying to get back in Jennifer's good graces by helping her son's girlfriend out. Daniel tells Anne that Paige is a good candidate and if she does not consider her for the program, he will go straight to the board.
Kayla arrives as Anne flounces out of the office annoyed. Kayla wants Daniel to look at an email she forwarded him. Daniel looks at the email and says this could change everything.
