Nicole meets with Daniel at his apartment. She is overjoyed to tell him the news of her engagement to Eric. She senses Daniel's thoughts are elsewhere. She apologizes to Daniel for shooting him on Smith Island. She then tells him her good news about the engagement. Daniel is distraught. He questions Nicole about her involvement with Liam. She tries to double talk her way around the discussion, but Daniel pushes her for the truth. Nicole is confused as to Daniel's intentions. She asks him if he is jealous. Daniel tells her no. He thought they were friends and could confide in one another. Nicole thinks that is true. They have been through a lot together. Daniel tries to give Nicole an opportunity to tell the truth, but she plays dumb. Daniel forces her hand and pulls out the Chyka documents. He asks her to explain. Nicole freezes like a deer caught in the headlights.
