At Nicole's hotel room, Daniel finds a letter from Dr. Chyka to Kristen. The letter has been reconstructed after it had been shredded. Daniel confronts Nicole where she got the letter. Nicole starts to cry. She tries to make Daniel promise not to tell Eric. Daniel refuses to agree to that. He pushes Nicole to tell him. Nicole lies to Daniel where she got the letter. Nicole tells Daniel that she found it on her desk at work. She spins a story that Stefano is taunting her. Daniel wants to know why she is so committed to keep the evidence from Eric. Nicole is trying to protect Eric from having to relive his nightmare with Kristen again. Daniel is sympathetic, but has his reservations on keeping this a secret. Nicole is worried that if Eric finds out, he would go after Stefano and he couldn't win. Nicole's lie works. Daniel will keep the letter a secret. He does not think it would accomplish anything anyway. Nicole throws her arms around Daniel to thank him. Daniel does not like keeping secrets. He is not convinced that Stefano sent the letter. If any more evidence appears, she will need to go to the police. When Daniel leaves, Nicole receives a call from Eric telling her she loves him. Nicole burns the letter.
When Daniel returns to the hospital, he receives a text. It is the picture of Jennifer that has been posted throughout the hospital.
