Daniel is at his apartment. Theresa is on the phone trying to line up a date with him. Daniel stalls her attempts. He is working on his computer and needs to reload his files. A knock comes at the door. Daniel tells Theresa he will need to call her back. Eric wants to know if Daniel can recover any information to clear his name. Daniel apologizes and tells him no. Eric is disappointed and leaves abruptly.
Later at he pub, Daniel confronts Nicole about why she did not tell Eric that his files were unrecoverable. Nicole says it wasn't the right time. She didn't want to be the one to tell him there was no hope. Nicole tells Daniel that Eric knows that her and Daniel are not a couple. Daniel gets called back to the hospital, before she has a chance to tell Daniel that Eric told her he loves her. Eric arrives as Daniel leaves. He is wearing his collar. Daniel apologizes about not being truthful about his relationship with Nicole. Eric says it is ok. Daniel leaves for the hospital, allowing Nicole and Eric to talk.
When Daniel gets home, he gets a call from Roman asking if there is anything further Daniel can do to help Eric. Daniel apologizes, but says no. When he hangs up with Roman, he remembers the hard copy of the list of doctors capable of poisoning Eric. He retrieves the list from the shirt in his backpack and says this may not be over.
