At the hospital, Maggie arrives to meet Daniel for lunch. Daniel can see she is upset. She has still not spoken to Victor and it is weighing on her. Daniel decides to take her to his apartment fro lunch. He has just the cure to cheer her up.
At lunch at the apartment, Daniel tells Maggie she is going to have to face Victor eventually. Maggie frowns. Maggie hugs Daniel goodbye and leaves.
A knock comes at Daniel's door. It is Anne. She hands Daniel a summons to appear before the hospital disciplinary committee. She enjoys telling him "he's been served". Daniel tries to send Anne on her way, but Anne stays long enough to point out that Jenifer will be at the hearing. Daniel tells Anne she is just trying to hurt Jennifer. Anne bluntly replies Daniel did that all on his own. He curtly tells Anne goodbye and slams the door in her face.
Daniel flies into a rage, crumples the summons and flings it across the room. He also swipes all the decor to the floor from the table. Nicole arrives home and witnesses Daniel's frustration. She wants to know what is wrong. Daniel fills Nicole in. Nicole tries to cheer him up. She tells him she will help him plan his strategy. She is good at that! Daniel wishes this would all go away, even if it is for one hour. Nicole leans over and kisses him on the cheek. Daniel looks over at Nicole and they begin kissing.
