Daniel meets with Eric at the hospital. He asks him if the name from the hotel was any help to him. Eric looks anxious. Daniel wants to talk privately in his office. Eric is about to discuss the name with Daniel, when Joanna arrives with the flash drive Parker had found while playing in the park. Daniel takes the flash drive and decides to open it. He wants to try to find it's owner. Daniel inserts the flash drive into his computer, but before it can be opened, Maxine pulls him away for an emergency. There is a patient with a gunshot wound. Daniel races out of the office.
In surgery, Daniel tries to save Chad's life. Daniel is seriously concerned about having to repair a major artery in Chad's heart. He works on Chad diligently. Daniel is hopeful that Chad will pull through. Chad is stable for a few moments, but not soon afterwords, alarms start going off. Chad is losing his life.
