Daniel runs into Jennifer. Jennifer tries to share pleasantries with Daniel, but Daniel can't do that. He tells Jennifer that he wants her in his life, but she can't have it both ways. If she wants to distance herself from Daniel to reconnect with her son JJ, than that is what is going to happen. Jennifer defends initiating the break up. She has to give JJ a chance. Daniel tells her that is not how to raise a responsible man. They agree to keep their distance.
At the hospital, Kate corners Daniel on Rafe's condition. Daniel knows Rafe will have mobility issues he will have to work through. His memory may take a while to catch up as well.
When Rafe comes out of his coma, his heart rate races when he sees Sami. Sami is asked to leave Rafe's room. Daniel advises her that she is not allowed near Rafe until he clears Rafe for physical or psychological stability. Sami is not pleased to be excluded from Rafe's visitor's list.
