At Daniel's apartment, JJ insinuates that Daniel doesn't trust him. Their conversation gets interrupted when Abigail arrives to babysit for Parker. JJ leaves, but Abigail senses there is something wrong between Daniel and JJ. Daniel hugs Parker goodbye and then leaves for his date with Jennifer. JJ returns back to Daniel's apartment and asks Abigail for money. Abigail agrees if JJ will watch Parker while she does a few minutes of research on Daniel's computer. JJ agrees.
Daniel arrives to pick up Jennifer for their date. Jen informs him that she will not be able to spend the night with him for a while. She needs to focus on JJ's adjustment. Daniel understands. He turns the conversation toward their dinner date at a new restaurant, but realizes he has forgotten his wallet. They will stop back at Daniel's apartment before going to the restaurant.
JJ agreed to watch Parker, but instead, he puts his headphones on and listens to music. The plane that Parker was playing with gets lodged at the top of the bookcase. Parker calls for JJ to help, but JJ is absorbed in his music and doesn't hear. Parker pulls a chair over and climbs up to get his plane. The chair is about to topple, when Daniel enters the apartment and safely grabs Parker. The noise arouses Abigail. Daniel sends Parker off with her to the bedroom, while he confronts JJ. JJ who is unaware what has happened, notices Daniel glaring at him. JJ smugly says "what's up?" Daniel infuriated by JJ's cavalier behavior with his son's safety, grabs JJ by the shirt and tells him "If you ever put my son in danger like that again. I will tear you apart."
