At the hospital, Daniel learns his car has been vandalized in the hospital parking lot. He strongly suspects JJ has done the damage. Later, Daniel is reading to Parker when JJ shows up at his apartment. JJ abruptly hands over a wad of money for the train and the MP3 player he broke and quickly tries to leave. Daniel accepts the money but, does not let JJ leave so quickly. They need to talk.
Daniel puts Parker down for his nap. When he returns to his living room, he sees JJ handling his tennis racket. JJ asks to borrow it. Daniel says no. JJ prods Daniel, insinuating that he does not trust him. Daniel takes the tennis racket away from JJ and reaffirms his "no". He then asks JJ if there is something he would like to tell him.
