At the hospital, Daniel checks on Rafe who has been put into an induced coma. Daniel encourages him to stay strong. Daniel leaves the room and finds EJ waiting outside. Daniel doesn't buy EJ's concern for Rafe and point blank asks him if he did this to Rafe. EJ denies the accusation. Daniel calls Kate to update her on Rafe's condition. Eric and Nicole arrive. While Eric goes in to perform last rites on Rafe, Nicole laments to Daniel that this could be EJ trying to get even with her and Rafe.
On Daniel's break he stops by to see Jennifer. He senses she is hiding something from him, but she assures him everything is good between them. They are embraced in a kiss when JJ walks into the house and spots them kissing. He stares with disdain at the couple.
