Jennifer tells Daniel she wants to take a break in their relationship. Daniel is stunned and can't believe what she has asked. Jennifer believes that if they try to make this relationship work, Chloe will destroy whatever future they have. Daniel tries to convince Jennifer otherwise, but Jennifer says now that Chloe has dragged her daughter into this mess, it can't go on. Daniel learns that Chloe taunted Abigail with Jack's death. Daniel is not in favor of cutting off all ties to Chloe for Parker's sake. He promises to work it out, but Jennifer doesn't think he can. Daniel leaves bidding Jennifer a sullen good night. Before he leaves he turns and kisses Jennifer goodbye. He tells her he will not give up on her or them. He will find a way to work things out.
Daniel returns to his apartment to say goodnight to Parker. He accuses Chloe of enjoying herself when she can put a guilt trip on him. Chloe becomes defensive. Daniel leaves unsure how he can figure this all out. Later, he receives a call from Nancy. She plants the notion in his head that she be of help in getting Chloe to move on from him. Daniel is hopeful. He is also unaware that Nancy and Chloe have teamed up to get Daniel to reunite with Chloe.
