     At the Horton cabin, Daniel enters to find Nicole and Jennifer arguing. Daniel calls Jennifer's name and asks her what she is doing here.  Jennifer apologizes as she tried to call. Daniel tells her there is no phone service on the island. Daniel asks Nicole for some privacy. He wants to have closure with Jennifer.  Nicole waits outside, but doesn't miss a chance to listen at the door. Daniel asks Jennifer to go home. He is fine and does not need her hovering over him or her pity. Jennifer claims it is not pity. She is a friend and she agreed to stand by him regardless of the outcome of the clinical trial. Daniel tells her he is not alone. Jennifer shoots back a sarcastic reply that Nicole is quite a women to lean on. The discussion ends when Jennifer folds over in pain and collapses in Daniel's arms. Daniel realizes she has a fever and her appendix is about to burst. He needs to get her to a hospital. He calls Nicole in from outside to help. They both hear the ferry whistle blow, indicating the last ferry has left the island. Daniel cries No!
