At the Horton cabin, Daniel realizes that Jennifer is having an appendicitis attack. He sends Nicole to flag down the last ferry, but she returns with bad news. The ferry has left. Daniel decides he will operate on Jennifer with Nicole's help. His hands shake as he gives Jennifer an injection for pain. She reaches out and steadies his hand. The operation takes place. Daniel performs the surgery with steady hands. Nicole is amazed that his hands did not shake. Daniel is too. When Daniel strokes Jennifer's forehead, she briefly awakens. Daniel reassures her she will be fine. Jennifer complains her heart hurts. Still groggy, Jennifer tells Daniel she loves him.
