At Daniel's apartment, Maggie stops by to check on him. He wants to take some time off and sort things out. Maggie makes a suggestion. The medical supplies at the Horton cabin need to be restocked. Daniel agrees to go to Smith Island for a quiet break without phones or internet.
At the hospital, Daniel clears his schedule and updates Nurse Maxine. He runs into Jennifer , but abruptly leaves to be on his way to the island. Jennifer badgers Maxine until she tells him where Daniel has gone. She sets off for Smith Island to try to clear things with Daniel.
Nicole also has found out where Daniel is off to. She follows him to Smith Island too. Daniel is speechless when he sees Nicole and asks her to take the next ferry back to Salem. While Daniel goes to check on the generator, Nicole makes herself at home. When Jennifer arrives, Nicole makes it clear that Daniel can't stand to look at Jennifer. Jennifer argues that Daniel can speak for himself. Jennifer looks pale and sick.
