Daniel is with Dr. Lewis and Jennifer. He is ready to start the clinical trial. Dr. Lewis asks him again if he is sure that he wants him to proceed. Daniel hesitates and Jennifer asks for a moment alone with Daniel. Daniel rethinks his decision and realizes he must go forward as planned. He calls Dr. Lewis back in and the injection takes place. Daniel will know in one hour if the procedure was a success. Jennifer leaves with Daniel to kill the hour at the Brady Pub.
Caroline approaches to take Daniel's order. Jennifer has stepped away to take a phone call. Caroline takes the opportunity to talk to Daniel. She apologizes for all the pain she has caused him with Parker. Daniel graciously tells her it is ancient history and puts her mind at ease by telling her all is forgiven.
When the hour is up, Daniel begins the follow up to see if the clinical trial worked. His hands are steady, but when Dr. Lewis has him test his grip, his hands start to tremble. Dr. Lewis breaks the bad news...the clinical trial has failed. Daniel coldly stares.
