Daniel confronts Nicole. He tells her she knew the baby was dead before the accident. Jennifer is in shock at the news. Nicole makes desperate pleas denying the truth. Daniel tells her she is lying to herself. EJ, Rafe, Abigail and Brady arrive. Daniel tries to get Nicole to talk privately, but her continued denial of the truth forces him to reiterate the facts in front of the onlookers.
Abigail bursts into a frenzy, attacking Nicole for accusing her mom of killing her baby. Rafe goes to Nicole. He gets her to admit she knew her baby was dead before the accident. Nicole agrees to speak with Daniel privately. The room clears and Nicole tearfully replays losing the child. She didn't want to lose Daniel too, so she went after Jennifer at the town square. Jennifer enters and Daniel is sorry she had to hear what Nicole said. He tells Jennifer he will take her out of here, but when he turns back, Nicole has left.
Daniel follows her to the town square, to the same staircase where she fell. She pulls out a scalpel and holds Daniel at bay. Daniel pleads with her "No"!
