Daniel tries to understand all that has happened with Nicole. He has a brief discussion with Cam, after he reviews the baby's autopsy. It is concluded that unless Nicole had an exam prior to the accident, no one can be sure when the baby died. Daniel contacts Dr. Sedgwick. She has the notes from Nicole's exam. She emails them to Daniel. He understands now what has happened. Nicole knew her baby was dead before the accident.
Back at the apartment, Nicole dreams of her happiness in her new life with Daniel, but before they can get started, Jennifer appears and declares her love for Daniel. Nicole snaps back to reality. Desperate to save her future with Daniel, she heads to Jennifer's home.
Daniel leaves the baby clothes with Cameron to return to lost and found. He also asks him to keep their conversation regarding Nicole between them. Daniel leaves the hospital. He sets out to find Nicole. When he arrives home, Nicole is gone. Daniel agonizes over what Nicole has done.
