Daniel waits for Jennifer's answer. "No, she did not press charges against Nicole". She wants everyone to move forward. Daniel hugs her with relief. He is impressed by her integrity. Jennifer asks if he still loves Nicole. Daniel explains that he is not sorry for helping Nicole. She was in a desperate state and she needed him. He is glad he helped her. The conversation grows quiet. Jennifer says I guess this is goodbye. Daniel nods and walks away.
Daniel checks on Nicole as she is ready to leave the hospital. He wonders where she will call home now. Nicole realizes all the trouble she has caused him. She asks if he hates her. Daniel replies he does not hate her. But Nicole understands he is not in love with her either. Daniel reaches for Nicole to console her, but she quickly pulls away. She hurries out of the hospital room as Daniel watches her from the window.
Later, Jennifer finds Daniel at the hospital. She did not like the way things ended between them. She wants them to stay friends. Daniel shakes her hand and says then friends it is.
