After telling Jennifer that he is still in love with her, Daniel and Jennifer talk things out. Daniel admits that he never stopped loving her, but when Jack came back, he had to let them be a family. Jennifer laments that he is sacrificing himself by going away with Nicole so she can have her freedom. Daniel tries to reason with Jennifer. Jennifer doesn't want to lose him as a friend. He has made his decision and opens the door for her to leave.
Nicole and Brady arrive at Daniel's apartment. Nicole goes off to take a shower and then will rest. Brady has a chance to talk with Daniel. He questions Daniel if this move is permanent and if he will ever see Jennifer again. Daniel doesn't answer. He asks Brady to watch out for Jennifer.
Nicole fantasizes about being in Hawaii after one year. Daniel gives her a present and tells her the adoption for a new baby has been granted. Nicole wakes and thinks it all could happen just that way.
Daniel is at the hospital, filling out paperwork before he can leave. A nurse holds up part of a baby outfit. Daniel does not yet realize that it was one of the outfits Nicole had bought before she lost the baby.
