While Daniel is out making travel arrangements, Nicole dreams of their happy departure, but her dream turns sour when Jennifer interrupts her plans, by revealing the truth to Daniel.
Daniel makes sure the baby clothes are picked up from his apartment so Nicole will have no reminders of the sad time, then leaves for the hospital. He arrives at the hospital to find out Nicole's release is detained. Daniel gets a call from the donation office. They left his tax donation slip on the door. Daniel wants to return home to remove the slip before he takes Nicole home. Rafe agrees to stay with Nicole at the hospital. When Daniel removes the donation slip from the door, he meets Jennifer at the elevator. She wants to talk. She realizes Daniel has made a bargain with Nicole to go away with her in exchange for her freedom. An argument ensues. Daniel tells her she is wrong, but in the rage of the moment, he blurts out he still loves her. Jennifer stares.
