Daniel's talk with Billie makes him realize how much Jennifer is fixated on his relationship with Nicole. He runs into Brady and asks him to check up on Jennifer. Brady agrees. Maggie finds Daniel. She wants to discuss the upcoming holidays. Daniel tells her of his plans to leave Salem. Maggie is saddened by the news. She does not understand Daniel's decision. She presses him to make her understand. Daniel balks at telling her the truth.
After her unpleasant run in with Jennifer, Nicole pleads with Daniel to leave town immediately. Daniel tells her he can't. It may take a week or two to put things in order for him to leave. He tells Nicole to also think of Rafe. They can't just leave and hang him out to dry. Nicole continues her pleas, begging Daniel to leave town as soon as possible.
