At Daniel's apartment, EJ shows up demanding to speak with Melanie. Daniel abruptly tells EJ that Melanie is gone. Daniel goes on to tell EJ he will never tell him where she is. EJ tries to defend his brother, but Daniel tags him as a sociopath who did nothing but hurt his daughter. Nicole arrives and Daniel leaves EJ in the hall, slamming the door in his face. Nicole learns that Daniel may have a plan to ease her stress about the EJ situation.
When Daniel returns to the hospital, he overhears a coworker saying that Ms Horton has left notice not to be disturbed. Daniel heads straight to her office. He hears her making a call to DNA labs on EJ's behalf. He rips the phone from her hand and slams it back into the receiver.
