Daniel is at the prison. He is still trying to locate Melanie. He confronts Hope, Jessica and Maggie, curtly voicing his opinion that Nick should not be allowed parole. He is adamant that he is trying to make sure that Melanie will be safe and she will be safe if Nick stays in prison. Daniel learns that Chad has brought Melanie to the prison and convinced her to testify. While Daniel waits with Chad, he praises Melanie for having the courage to do this. When Melanie is done testifying, she enters the waiting area. Daniel warmly holds her and asks if she is Ok. Melanie says she did what she had to do. The parole board announces their decision. Nick has been granted parole. Daniel stands motionless, stunned by the the decision.
