Daniel meets Maggie at the Brady Pub. The topic of Melanie's quick wedding is immediately brought up. Daniel is uncomfortable about it and expresses his concerns to Maggie. He feels it is a desperate move on Melanie's part to deal with Nick being out on parole. Maggie informs Daniel that Melanie has made amends with Nick. Daniel is overwhelmed by his daughter's courage to confront Nick. Maggie tells Daniel she is his daughter and has many of his good qualities. Daniel flashes back to Jennifer's chastising words and he tells Maggie he is not that good.
At the hospital, Daniel catches Jennifer with DNA lab information. He warns her not to get involved. Before he can finish the conversation, he gets summoned by Maggie. He needs to be with Melanie. When he arrives, he finds Melanie crying. He quickly goes to her, comforting her as he holds her in his arms.
