Daniel walks into his office and sees Nicole at his desk in front of the DNA sample box. He asks her what she is doing. Nicole is scared. She does not know what will happen when EJ finds out he is the father of her baby. Daniel tries to calm Nicole down. He listens to her fears and tries to dissuade her from leaving town. He knows from experience that she must face her demons head on. Nicole tells Daniel it was different for him. He is not alone. He has his daughter and his mother. Daniel tells Nicole she is not alone. She has him.
Nicole is taken aback by Daniel's sincerity. The couple spontaneously fall into a kiss. The passion increases until the phone rings. Nicole and Daniel are both confused as to what just happened, but Daniel reassures Nicole that she is not alone and that he will be there for her.
