Daniel waits in his office as Nicole and Rafe arrive for their DNA tests. Nicole is surprised that EJ has not arrived yet for the test. She thinks maybe he has changed his mind. Daniel tells her not to count on that. Daniel anticipates that Nicole is going to ask him to switch the tests results, so he confronts her head on. She knows his answer will be no, but she is desperate to hide the truth from EJ. When EJ finally arrives, he announces that when the DNA test confirms that he is the father of Nicole's baby, he will have paternal rights. He puts Nicole on warning that he plans to get sole custody by charging Nicole with being an unfit mother. Daniel intervenes declaring that this is a hospital and not a court room and that EJ is upsetting his patient. Daniel then takes EJ for testing. After the testing, Daniel tells Nicole her baby is lucky to have her for a mother. Daniel has to see a patient, so he escorts Nicole and Rafe out of his office. While he is gone, Nicole slips back into his office and changes the DNA test samples. Daniel opens the door and sees Nicole at his desk in front of the paternity test box.
