JJ enters Daniel's office. He needs someone to talk to. He asks Daniel if he can keep things between them. Daniel agrees. JJ is worried that he will become like his father, a rapist. Daniel quiets his fears and tells JJ that his father changed. He was no longer that man. He also assures JJ that he has changed and that he is no longer making bad decisions. JJ is encouraged by Daniel's words. He still is in a quandary as to to how to explain this all to Paige. Daniel suggests he go to his apartment and think. Daniel won't be home for hours. JJ can use the time to gather his thoughts. JJ thanks Daniel and heads to Daniel's apartment.
At the nurses' station, Eve spots Daniel. She tells him he made an excellent choice in helping her to choose a new surgeon. As long as Eve is valuing Daniel's opinion, he asks her to give JJ a break. He says JJ is a good kid and he has been through a lot. Eve tells him No! She knows better than Daniel who is best for her daughter and it is not JJ.
