Eve spots Daniel and Parker in the town square. She sets her eye on the single dad and asks him to join her for a drink to discuss her surgery. Daniel informs her that he is just out of a relationship and that he has learned the hard way to keep his personal and professional life separate. He encourages her to make an appointment if she would like to speak with him.
Later at Daniel's apartment, Abigail stops by. She lets Daniel know that her mother could use his support right now. She is at the lake if he is interested. Daniel tells Abigail that he does not want to discuss her mother and him. It is their situation to figure out. When Abigail leaves, Daniel reflects on Jennifer. He heads to the lake.
When Daniel catches up with Jennifer, she doesn't want to talk about her troubles. She wants to talk about him being in her life. Daniel is not ready to reconcile. He goes on his way, leaving Jennifer alone by the lake.
