Daniel orders Nicole to tell Eric about the documents she hid or he will. Nicole panics and bolts for the door. Eric and Jennifer are just arriving. They both sense tension between Daniel and Nicole. Eric wants to know why Daniel and Nicole are upset. Nicole speaks up and says that Daniel and her were in the middle of a discussion when she tried to walk out. She pulls Eric into the hall and tells him she needs to clear things up with Daniel. Inside Daniel's apartment, Jennifer questions Daniel if he is happy Nicole and Eric are engaged. Daniel weighs his words carefully, although he suspects Jennifer may be insecure about his friendship with Nicole. Daniel tells her they were not arguing about the engagement. Eric and Jennifer leave Nicole and Daniel to finish their discussion.
Daniel tells Nicole he will not change his mind. She needs to tell Eric about the documents.
Nicole pleads her case again. She is still afraid she will lose Eric to the church. Daniel tells her, Eric was happy being a priest. When you love someone you don't take away what they love. Nicole asks Daniel not to tell Jennifer until she tells Eric. Daniel asks her why? The truth is going to come out eventually. Nicole assures him she will tell Eric tonight. Daniel opens her arms to hug he before she leaves, but Nicole brushes by him and goes out the door. Jennifer returns and questions Daniel if he is ok. He says he is, but he doesn't want to talk about Nicole.
