At the hospital, Daniel runs into Jennifer. She is excited that JJ got a good grade on his first summer school final. Daniel is happy for her. She hopes it is a start for JJ turning things around. However, Jennifer will soon learn that JJ has been arrested for selling drugs in the park.
Eric is still struggling with what happened to him at the Capital hotel. He approaches Daniel to reopen the case. Daniel agrees to help however he can. Daniel also tells Eric about his break up with Jennifer. Eric doesn't judge, but points out JJ's part in keeping Daniel and Jennifer apart.
Later. Daniel learns that Jennifer has been summoned to the police station.
