At the rectory, Daniel has a plan to find out what caused Fr. Eric's illness. He takes him to meet with a friend of his, Mason. Mason is a forensic detective with CSI and feels he can help in investigating the hotel room where Eric got sick. Eric finally agrees to the plan and gives the go ahead to proceed. Eric also admits to Daniel that he needs to realize he may have an enemy and somebody may have tried to hurt him.
At the hospital, Maxine gives Daniel a press release to approve. When she asks him to put on Jennifer's desk, he balks and says it is "complicated". Maxine tell him Jennifer has just left and inserts a sarcastic "it's not as complicated as you think" on her way to a patient's room.
Daniel takes the press release to Jennifer's office. He is unaware that Theresa is in the doorway checking him out!.
