At the hospital, Daniel kisses Jennifer swearing he will never give up on them. Jennifer pushes him away. She begins to humiliate him in front of the hospital staff. First by comparing him to Jack and then telling him she was drawn to him for sex and not love. Daniel is crushed when she tells him it is over. Jennifer hands back the necklace Daniel gave her. When he refuses to take it, Jennifer throws it at him. Daniel picks it up off the floor. Jennifer storms off, telling Daniel she never wants to hear from him again. Chloe is lurking in the shadows, observing the public break up.
Daniel is at his apartment. He is sitting sullen in front of the fireplace, holding Jennifer's necklace. Chloe comes in and tries to console him, but Daniel tells her it is none of her business. He opens the door and orders her to go. Chloe tells him he is a good man and that he knows love. Suddenly, Daniel pulls Chloe into a passionate kiss.
