Daniel is on a video chat with Melanie. Maggie and Abigail are anxious to have their turn. Daniel relinquishes the headset and finds Jennifer. Jennifer inquires how Melanie's Christmas was. Daniel notes that it was good, but as for the time change her Christmas is almost over. Daniel comments to Jennifer that theirs is just beginning. Jennifer smiles. As they get ready to leave, both admit they did not buy each other a Christmas gift. Daniel tells Jennifer that their date tomorrow will be the best Christmas present ever. Jennifer agrees. Victor hurries them along for the Christmas party at the hospital is waiting. Jennifer reads the Christmas story to the kids. Daniel is proud of her.
Festivities continue at the Horton house. Lucas greets Jennifer at the door. He tells Jennifer that she missed a call from Bill, her father and adds that their dad is very worried about her. Daniel ignores the underlying derogatory message in Lucas' comment. But Jennifer returns a comment to Lucas, subtly indicating that Daniel has made it a good Christmas.
