Daniel learns that Nicole is going to name her baby after him. She kisses him. After the kiss, Daniel pushes her away, telling her to stop. He doesn't want to hurt her, but poignantly tells her they can be only friends. Neither one is ready for a committed relationship. Daniel says he may never be ready.
Jennifer finds Daniel and apologizes to him for stepping in on her behalf with Anne. She realizes he was just being a friend trying to help her. Daniel understands, he gets it, he gets where she is coming from and accepts the apology.
Later, Daniel stops by to see Nicole. He wants to assure her that he still values her as a friend and he will do what he has to do to protect her baby from EJ.
