Daniel shows up at Jennifer's door. He brings her flowers. He reveals that she may have overheard Maggie discouraging this date. He goes on to explain it was because of the anniversary of finding out Parker was not his son. He tells her that he wants to go on this date and heartily proclaims, they are going on this date!. His honesty rings true with Jennifer. She notices that this time when he expressed his feelings, he looked her directly in the eye. She agrees to go on the date.
Their date is at the Brady Pub, where memories of their first unofficial date playing darts surfaces. Jennifer has trouble scoring when she fails to even hit the board. When Daniel steps away, Anne steps up to badger Jennifer. Jennifer's frustration with Anne causes Jenifer's dart skills to magically improve. She hits the bulls-eye several times. Daniel is impressed. Jennifer thinks they should have dessert at her house, blushing with a coy smile. They head to the Horton home.
At the Horton house, Jennifer tells Daniel she has no interest in dessert, but just wanted to be alone with him. Daniel smiles. They are about to kiss when Daniel gets a call from the hospital. He is needed in surgery. Disappointed Jennifer groans. She walks Daniel to the door and both agree it was a great date and kiss. Before Daniel leaves he wishes Jennifer a Happy New Year.
