Daniel and Nicole are with Bo and Hope at the police station. Hope tries to encourage Daniel to attend Lexie's fundraiser and Brady's Wedding. Daniel is not is a celebratory mood with Melanie missing. Daniel is restless about going to the first event. He decides against going and pounds the elevator button several times in haste. Nicole and Daniel feel the explosion and think it was an earthquake. Daniel continues to pound the elevator button. Nicole tries to calm him down. She offers Daniel a hug. The elevator arrives. Nicole wants to go with Daniel. Daniel says no and gets in the elevator. Nicole pleads he should not be alone. Daniel gets out of the elevator ant sets off to find Madison and Brady to give him his regrets for not attending their wedding. Nicole follows him. Daniel meets Maggie and Victor and learns that Brady has not shown up for his wedding. Daniel decides to take Nicole home and go back out and look for Melanie. Before he can leave the explosion hits. Chaos ensues as Daniel calls out Nicole's name and tries to cross the room to get to her. Nicole yells to Daniel warning him of the falling chandelier. The chandelier explodes and comes crashing down, leaving Daniel trapped under the rubble.
