Daniel is working in his office when Jennifer stops by. She is unsure how Daniel really feels about their relationship. Daniel welcomes her and admits that their first encounter earlier was a little awkward. Jennifer questions him about what he did. Daniel says he surfed in Australia, attended a medical conference and surfed some more in Hawaii. He was in heaven with no phone or Internet. The talk becomes personal and Daniel admits he had to return to Salem to see if when he saw Jennifer, he still had feelings for her. When he left Salem he was angry at life. He was so close to building a future, but he realizes now it was not meant to be. Daniel tells Jennifer he never meant to hurt her but they can only be friends. She turns away from Daniel when she hears Daniel's words. Daniel poses the question ..can they be friends. Jennifer replies, yes she would like to be his friend.
